Overview

Imagely is a WordPress plugin used by photographers and creators to build and sell image galleries online. The product had strong capabilities but suffered from visual clutter and functional complexity, especially in gallery setup and eCommerce workflows.

WHAT I DID

I led a full redesign of the plugin with a clear goal: refresh the interface and reduce user confusion. A major challenge was to streamline the gallery configuration flow while integrating live preview, allowing users to see changes in real time. To support development, I built detailed prototypes in Figma, allowing smoother reviews and easier implementation. I also created a comprehensive style guide and component library, which boosted speed, improved consistency, and laid the foundation for scalable future features.

The project involved improving two key areas: gallery creation and eCommerce setup. I restructured these into clearer, step-by-step flows, supported by inline feedback and simplified controls. The component system created a solid design foundation, helping the team scale updates efficiently and maintain a clean user experience. To ensure clarity across the team, I built prototypes for usability testing and used them during handoffs to developers for accurate implementation.
